In this project, I experimented the question of facial synchrony using extremely novel methods. I created a series of interactive tasks, including a 3D-hologram balloon pumping game. I integrated a couple of advanced facial analysis technique. Also, I am discovering and implementing novel statistical techniques to automate synchrony analysis.
I developed an automated facial analysis model adapted from ZFace and OpenFace
In the condition when two participants were not allowed to speak to each other, facial synchrony happened almost spontaneously.
In the condition when two participants were allowed to speak to each other, facial synchrony (smile, in this example) happened slowly.
